AurisBook respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.
Personal Data
AurisBook does not collect any personally identifiable data. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or any information that identifies you personally.
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage metrics to understand how the app is used and prioritize improvements. See the Analytics section below for details.
Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your audiobook library (titles, authors, chapters)
- Listening progress and bookmarks
- Collections and preferences
- Listening statistics
This data is stored exclusively on your device using a local database and is never sent to any server.
Audio Files
Audiobook files are stored locally on your device. AurisBook does not upload, share, or transmit your audio files.
Analytics
We use PostHog (analytics hosted by PostHog, Inc.) to collect anonymous usage metrics.
What we collect:
- Navigation events (e.g., "library opened", "playback started", "import completed")
- App version and build number
- Operating system type and version
- Approximate country (derived from IP, without storing the IP)
What we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email, phone, or any personally identifiable information
- The contents of your audiobooks
- Files from your device
- Precise location
- Any identifier that could be linked back to you personally
How it works: We use an anonymous identifier generated randomly on your device. This ID is not linked to any personal data. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, a new ID is generated — no continuity between installs.
Retention: Data is retained in aggregated form for up to 90 days.
Error reports: When the app encounters a technical failure, we automatically send an anonymous message describing the error (function name, code line, app version) so we can fix it. These messages contain no personal information or content from your audiobooks.
Third-Party Services
AurisBook integrates with the following third-party services:
- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics, as described in the Analytics section above.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — these platforms collect download metrics and crash reports according to their own policies. We do not have access to individual user data.
We do not integrate with advertising networks or data brokers.
Children's Privacy
Although we do not collect personally identifiable information, AurisBook is not directed at children under 13.
